Partnership Agreement Between Toyota And Mazda
Important news from the Land of the Rising Sun: in a business meeting, Toyota and Mazda made their partnership official. They will work together in the long-term, and their joint ventures will be seen in the coming months.
The terms are simple (in theory, at least): both companies will share technologies that will be used to improve both Toyota’s and Mazda’s vehicles throughout the world.
This isn’t the first time that the manufacturers have worked together. Toyota has already sold their plug-in hybrid technologies to Mazda (meaning they didn’t have to spend time and money developing their own) and Toyota’s subcompacts were produced in Mazda’s Mexican plant at one point. Furthermore, the Scion iA (which we will know as the Toyota Yaris Sedan here) will be built using the Mazda2’s bones.
After that, we suppose that the Skyactiv tech will find its way into Toyota products, and eventually, Toyota will probably teach its new partner how to build electric vehicles.
