2016 Ford Mustang: Already Upgraded
The Ford Mustang was completely redesigned last year; with an all-new independent suspension at the back and a turbocharged four-cylinder mill, the pony car has finally entered the 21st century.
Ford wants to make sure that its legendary car stays relevant, so for 2016, they decided to apply some subtle modifications. There is no major redesign, but there are a few upgrade packages:
- First of all, a Pony Package is available for the Ecoboost models. It includes a unique grille, side mouldings and different wheels.
- A Black Accent styling pack has been introduced for the Mustang GT. It gets a black rear wing, black badges and 19-inch wheels.
- The California Special is back for all V8-powered cars. It comes with decorative stripes on the hood and sides, a front splitter, a new grille, antiroll bar and aluminium wheels. The unique dashboard is built out of the same material, and the seats are covered in leather.
- You can now order your convertible GT with the Performance Package, which includes a large array of go-fast parts (like an exhaust, limited-slip differential, larger radiator, firmer suspension…).
But the biggest upgrade is on the hood of the GT (not underneath!): starting with the 2016 model-year, they will all come with marker lights incorporated into the hood, just like those found on the 1967 Mustang.
