This is the 2015 Shelby GT
The Shelby name has been exclusively associated with Ford, and more specifically with its famous pony car (the few ‘’infidelities’’ with Chrysler in the '80s and '90s have since been mostly forgotten). The brand name itself is used by Ford directly for its new Shelby GT350 and 350R, but Shelby American is still in business and builds sporty models based on Dearborn’s fastest vehicles.
In an effort to satisfy power-hungry customers, Shelby just launched a comprehensive tuning program for the new Mustang. With a carbon fibre body kit (which includes a rear wing and hood made out of the same material), the car not only looks better, but also cuts through the air.
Under the grille is Ford’s good old 5 litre V8. However, Shelby has upgraded it with a supercharger, bumping the horsepower rating up to 627 horsepower (if you want even more, the tuner can add a few bits and pieces to help the mill generate over 700 horsepower).
To make sure the Shelby GT can take a corner without aiming for the nearest ditch, Shelby American has also added a suspension, strut-tower brace, shocks and half-shafts that come from Ford Racing.
The Shelby GT can be yours for only $39,995… not including the 2015 Mustang GT that you have to supply.
