Dodge Charger Hellcat: Even Faster Than The Challenger
Usually, weight is the enemy of speed: the heavier a car is, the more its engine will have to work to get it going. So naturally, we assumed that the Charger Hellcat (heavier than the Challenger Hellcat) would be a few tenths slower than the coupe down the quarter mile.
There is no shame in admitting that we were wrong, right?

In a recent presentation, Dodge announced that their latest super-sedan can run from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. It can also blast down the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds, which is 0.1 of a second faster than its Challenger sibling. The reason for this quicker time is simple: while it is heavier, it is also longer. The extra weight and length help the car gain traction, which helps when you are trying to put 707 horsepower down to the ground!
The Charger Hellcat now officially becomes the world's fastest sedan.
And here is a little additional piece of information: some whispers heard at the rumour mill mention that the driver who tested the Charger Hellcat actually lifted off the throttle before the end of the run…
