Jaguar Transforms your Trackday Into a Videogame
If you have ever played any recent video game (Forza or Gran Turismo, among others) you know how useful a heads-up display can be. These games offer a virtual line over the track, so you know exactly where to place your car to shave precious tenths off your lap time.
Jaguar Land Rover already has a system that can show multiple gauges and views directly on the windshield of their products. They previously showed it on Land Rover vehicles, but they have now adapted it for track use.

You can see a few of the features of this heads-up display in the above video: the ideal racing line, many gauges (giving the driver information about the current gear selected, the speed of the vehicle and the RPM, among other things) and some info about the road you are on, such as speed limit. The driver can also program virtual cones into the HUD to simulate a nice autocross course on a deserted parking lot. This display can also give you information about the other drivers around you on the track.
Even better, it is possible to download other people's lap times, and actually see their ''ghosts'' on the track in front of you! This can help you polish your skills, since you will see the racing line your opponent used to get those times.
The manufacturer has not yet revealed where this heads-up display will be used, but since the video only shows F-types, we can speculate that this car will feature it eventually.
