Brabus Upgrades an E63 AMG; Creates the 850 6.0 Biturbo
The higher-level tuning firms have always fascinated me. 95% of all the living human beings on this planet would get in a 500+ horsepower car and would then be either amazed/terrorized by it, or they would wrap it around a tree. But there are a few select individuals who would grip the steering wheel, mash the throttle, and at the exact moment when the car would lurch forward in a concerto of engine noise and tire squeal, would think : ‘’Well, this poor car needs at least twice that horsepower!’’
Brabus is one of those very special types of tuning shops. They bought a 550 HP Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG brand-new, drove it back to their lair, and then proceeded to dismantle it. They bored the engine from 5.5 to 5.9 liters, added a billet crankshaft, billet conrods and forged billet pistons, all-new heads, a bigger air intake, huge turbos and a less restrictive exhaust system.

With all those additions, you would expect the car to generate more power. And you would be right. It now produces the equivalent of a V6 Mustang’s power ON TOP of the existing AMG V8, bringing the total to 850 horsepower and (an electronically-limited) 848 lb-ft of torque! This added cavalry gets the car to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, or 3.1 if you have the all-wheel drive 4MATIC version. It can run all the way to 350 km/h, if you are brave enough to keep your foot to the floor for a couple of seconds.
To justify what is probably an astronomically-high price, Brabus will also offer you 20 inch wheels, high-performance tires and a new interior made out of fancy leather and carbon fiber.
This 850 6.0 Biturbo is the proof that madness and grandeur are still alive, despite every reasonable argument you can throw at them!
