Win an Internship at Volkswagen Design

Do you have a talent for drawing, 3D design or multimedia authoring? Volkswagen may have an opportunity for you!

The German automaker is holding a contest for students in automotive design, interior/exterior design and interface design: create a Volkswagen concept car that will be used in a video game. The vehicle must be an all-new drawing, not just a tuned version of a production vehicle. While the students can design pretty much anything they want, VW wants the concept to be easily spotted as one of their own. So while bullet-shaped chrome bumpers and pop-up headlights are pretty cool, they probably won’t get you any points here.

The contest not only calls for the creation of a car for a video game, but you also have to dream up a scenario where your vehicle will shine: a high-speed race on an international track, an autocross course in an open parking lot, tight turns and power slides through a rally course… The choice is yours! The winners will win an internship at Volkswagen Design, in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Students who want to participate can find all the details here, and they have until August 15 to present their designs.

Good luck, and who knows, you just might land the lead designer job for the next Volkswagen Golf!
