Audi Sport Quattro Concept: the TT for the Track !
While presenting the 2015 Audi TT, Ingolstadt’s engineers also showed what happens when you take the performance knob of a TT, and turn it to eleven.
Still equipped with the 2.0 liter turbo, the TT Quattro Sport Concept is fitted with a healthy dose of performance parts to extract more performance: aluminium pistons, a forged steel crankshaft, a bigger turbo, an alloy crankcase, modifications in the Quattro system to allow more power to the rear wheels, a track-optimized traction control, various weight reductions, etc.
All those changes make for healthy performance numbers: 420 horsepower (which is a new record of power/liter ratio, at 210 hp/liter), 0-100 in 3.7 seconds and a total weight of 1344 kilograms.
On the outside, the TT Quattro Sport Concept looks the part, with wheel arches 30 mm larger than the stock TT. A front bumper with huge air intakes has been added, and there is now a race-inspired wing on the back.
According to Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, board member of the technical program, "the car is designed for racing – an extreme driving machine for the motorsports enthusiasts among our customers."
