Spotlight on the 2015 Porsche Macan
What a week coming up! We’re travelling to Germany to test the new Macan, Porsche’s first compact SUV.
The Macan is styled after the Cayenne, but it’s smaller. With a ticket price of $54,300, the base trim (the S) comes with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that delivers 340 horsepower and 339 lbs.-ft. of torque. Meanwhile, the Turbo is equipped with a V6 whose stroke has been increased, and it pumps out 400 horsepower and 406 lbs.-ft. of torque. This version retails at $82,200—not counting the numerous and expensive options.
Unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Macan is the brand’s first-ever compact SUV. It might be the vehicle’s small size that prompted Porsche to call in the tall (and gorgeous) tennis star Maria Sharapova to promote it. If she’s at the German launch, we’ll let you know. We’ll also send more details about the Macan, obviously.
