2014 European Car of the Year Finalists

After the announcement of the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year 2014 finalists, European journalists have also presented their list of seven contenders for the title of 2014 European Car of the Year.

Initially, there were thirty competing models. To be eligible, a vehicle must be sold no later than December of the current year, and have recorded sales of at least 5,000 units.

The jury is composed of 58 members representing no less than 22 countries.

The seven finalists are:

BMW i3
Citroen C4 Picasso
Mazda3
Mercedes-Benz S-Class
Peugeot 308
Skoda Octavia
Tesla Model S

The winner will be announced during the Geneva Auto Show in March. Last year the Volkswagen Golf VII won the coveted title.
