Chevrolet Colorado to be confirmed in Los Angeles

After being retired in 2011, the Chevrolet Colorado will return to the North American market in 2014.

The return will be confirmed on November 20 during one of the press days at Los Angeles Auto Show.

Chevrolet intends to build the next generation Colorado to be the most powerful, most versatile and most advanced compact-sized pickup ever offered. The Colorado will face off against the Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma.

As for engine options, nothing has been confirmed yet but there is speculation it will be a LFX DOHC 3.6L V6 powerplant.

Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon sales were highest in 2005 with 163,204 units sold and lowest in 2010 with just 32,634 units. The model is still on sale in Brazil and Thailand.
