BMW i3 Starts Production
Immediately after the unveiling at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in the BMW i3 series, the Bavarian manufacturer has already announced the start of production of its first car powered entirely by electricity.
The first models came out of the assembly lines at the plant in Leipzig under the admiring eyes of many dignitaries and BMW officials.
BMW had to invest over 400 million euros to ensure the production of "i" BMW models, all the while creating 800 jobs.
The BMW i3
Its all-electric motor offers an output of 170 horses and 184 lb-ft of torque while mated to a lithium-ion battery. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds, while its top speed is 150 km / h. Range varies between 130 and 160km. With the help of the Rex Energy Extension, it can even reach 300 kilometers.
