North America's Largest Audi Terminal Opens In Laval

This month saw the opening of North America's largest Audi Terminal - not in New York City, not in Los Angeles, not in Miami, but in Laval, Quebec. What exactly is an Audi 'Terminal,' you might be asking? Think of it as a mega-dealership that doesn't just offer a showroom but actually a showroom stacked on top of a showroom, combined with a full series of concierge services and customer niceties designed to set it apart from other vendors.

The Audi Terminal belongs to Audi Luzon, and a visit to the facility is impressive, to say the least. 200 cars can be stored in the facility's basement showroom, with space for another 20 on the main floor just above. In total, the Terminal boasts 130,000 square feet of space, including 33 garage bays in the service department and an automated car wash. Those waiting for an oil change or a price quote are coddled by the Audi Terminal's on-site restaurant - complete with table service. For those who want to make the most out of their Audi-related downtime, Audi Lauzon also makes available a full gym as well as business centre.

How much did it cost Audi Lauzon to open the Audi Terminal? The price tag has been pegged at $19 million, which is a not inconsiderable sum of money to spend on what is essentially a space to sell as many Audis as possible. Despite the hefty sum required to pull it off, as many as twenty other Audi dealerships across Canada are apparently interested in bringing the Terminal concept to their own hometowns. To help pay for the facility, Audi Lauzon plans to boost its sales from 400 vehicles a year to a lofty 1500 -a prospect that will eventually create as many as 50 new jobs at the dealership.
