Third Edition of Porsche's Camp4 Canada Coming January 2013
Porsche is bringing back another edition of its popular Camp4 Canada driving program, which aims to teach Porsche owners how to get the most out of their high performance vehicles when faced with the treacherous realities of winter weather. Porsche, which is one of the few sports car manufacturers that regularly advertises the snow-and-ice capabilities of their automobiles, will also be using the opportunity to introduce clients to the next-generation editions of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4.
The all-wheel drive Carrera 4 will be joined by rear-wheel drive versions of the Porsche Boxster S and the Porsche 911 Carrera at Mécaglisse, which is a winter driving facility design to offer a broad range of different road conditions that simulate the worst of what Canada's climate has to offer. Mécaglisse is located not far from Mont-Tremblant, one of Quebec's most attractive tourist locations, and those who attend Camp4 will be hosted at the five-star Estérel Suites, Spa and Lake hotel. 20 vehicles in all will be available to those who choose to pony up the $4995 entry fee for the four day experience, or an extra $1000 to add another full day of driving to the event (Camp4S). Four different 'waves' of the event are available, starting at the end of January, 2012, and finishing in the middle of February.
This is the third time Camp4 Canada has been offered to those who wish to sample the very edge of Porsche winter performance. Although a healthy quotient of fun is built into the event, the ultimate goal of Camp4 is to provide drivers with skills and knowledge they can use on the road in order to keep themselves and their passengers safe should conditions turn hazardous. Camp4 and Camp4S events are regularly held around the world in countries such as Finland and Switzerland, which are no strangers to the challenges presented to winter pilots.
