Fiat 500 Abarth sold out already
by Dan Fritter
After a fizzling performance in America, Fiat's little 500 finally feels as if it's catching on, thanks to the debut of the upcoming Abarth model.
Having initially planned to produce just 1,000 of the tiny hot hatches for the American market, Fiat was forced to respond to the unforeseen demand in April, when they sold the last one they were slated to produce. Increasing production capacity to a facility-stretching 3,000 units, Fiat expected to be able to stock dealerships for the rest of the year, but were once again surprised when orders kept rolling in. Now completely sold out for the 2012 model year, interested customers can place a deposit down to be put on a waiting list, with the first of the 2013s expected this fall.
