Porsche Unveils Uber-Exclusive Club Coupe
Few owners' groups are more fanatical than Porsche's. With owners that border on obsessive in their fanaticism of their favourite brand, it's no shocking surprise that they should be some of the most active as well, and have given rise to 640 Porsche Clubs in 75 countries, laying claim to some 181,000 members.
To honour the 60th anniversary of the first Porsche Club (located in Wolfsburg), Porsche has prepared 13 special editions of the 911 to be known as the 911 Club Coupe. Based upon a 911 Carrera S, the Club Coupe benefits from the addition of a Powerkit, bolstering the horsepower output by 30 to bring the total sum to 430, which renders a 0-60 time of just 4 seconds. Hunkered down (they'll all come with the PASM option, which lowers the car 20mm) over massive 20" Sport Techno rims and fitted with the Sport Design pack consisting of a new front fascia and ducktail spoiler, the overall design is classic Porsche, and will only be available finished in the ultra-classy Brewster Green paint with an Espresso interior.
However, as mentioned, with only 13 being produced it's going to be an expectedly rare model made more so by Porsche's own decision to retain one for themselves. So, that means just 12 lucky people will have the option to buy one, and each will be chosen by a lottery operated at http://www.porsche.com/microsite/911-club-coupe/international.aspx. But, should you end up being numbered among the lucky dozen, you will get one exceedingly rare Porsche delivered to you, with your own name engraved upon the door sill. However, we suspect Porsche might also want to include a towel, in order to clean up the other fanatic's drool.
