Scion Canada supports Canadian motorsports for second year, with Scion contingency program

All-new Scion 2013 FR-S promises to have a major impact at the track

Scion Canada is proud to support motorsports competitors across Canada for the second year in a row, through the Scion Racing contingency program.

This special program is designed to support aspiring Scion racers across the country to compete in sanctioned closed course motorsports event. Autoslalom, time attack, drag racing and more are eligible to participate. Racers must first register in their chosen races and connect with Scion Canada, who will provide Scion decals for their cars and Scion badging for their gear. The program will be particularly timely for racers who will be taking the all-new 2013 Scion FR-S to the track. With performance credibility inspired by the AE86 – a vehicle well known to Canadian Motorsports enthusiasts - the FR-S fits perfectly with Scion’s passion for racing. And it’s practical too, with a 2-plus-2 seating configuration and fold-flat cargo area that’s large enough to transport a full set of race tires for a day at the track.

“The all-new FR-S is a legit sports car – a car that is light, nimble, sleek, sporty, and offers a pure driving experience on the race track,” said Larry Hutchinson, Senior Executive Director of Scion in Canada. “We’re excited about the contributions that both the FR-S and Scion Racing contingency program will be able to make to enhance Canadian motorsports.”

To be eligible for the Scion Racing contingency program, Scion drivers must participate in a minimum of two races. In helping to support tomorrow’s racing talent, monetary prizes of up to $500 are available, plus up to $300 for a second place finish and $150 for a third place finish. A division champion will be paid $800.
