Jaguar Testing XF Diesel's Fuel Economy From New York to L.A.
by Dan Fritter
Jaguar is finally bringing their apparently wonderful diesel XF sedan to North America. Sadly, they're only bringing one... and you can't buy it.
Following a popular marketing ploy played out in Europe, Jaguar hopes to drive the car from New York to Los Angeles in seven days in an effort to prove to the world precisely how miserly the graceful sedan's oil-burning powerplant can be. Slightly longer than the 1,300 kilometres surveyed by a different XF diesel on its way from Castle Bromwich to Munich, the team hopes the car can manage to improve upon their predecessor's 4.3L/100 km thanks to the greater amount of open highway driving the team will enjoy on its 4,500 kilometre journey.
