Nissan LEAF reservations reopen october 22
- Nissan Canada to begin delivering 350 MY12 Nissan LEAFs before end of year –
Today Nissan Canada announced it will reopen its online reservation system for its first allocation of model year 2012 Nissan LEAFs at noon on Saturday, October 22nd.
Reservations are open to those who live within the vicinity (65 km) of the 27 Nissan LEAF certified dealers across Canada and who registered on www.nissan.ca/leaf before October 9th.
The 350 Nissan LEAFs available for Canadian retail customers in this first allotment for MY12 will begin delivery in the coming months. The MY12 units will be identical in spec and pricing to the MY11 Nissan LEAFs. At a starting price of $38,395, the Nissan LEAF is eligible for provincial rebates of $8,500 in Ontario and $8,000 in Quebec.
As with the first wave of reservations which happened in August, Nissan will carefully manage the purchase process from online registration, until the customer drives the Nissan LEAF home and plugs it into a personal charging dock.
“We’re already well into the delivery of the first Nissan LEAFs to Canadian consumers and the feedback has echoed excitement at being at the forefront of the electric mobility movement and pure driving pleasure,” said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. “We learned through the first wave of reservations that Canadians are very serious about the Nissan LEAF. The majority of those who ‘reserved’ a car have either completed their purchase or are continuing through the purchase process.”
Based on the enthusiastic response to the first wave of reservations, Nissan Canada anticipates selling out of all MY12 units quickly – demonstrating Canadians’ passion for innovation and zero emission mobility. If more than 350 people decide to purchase the Nissan LEAF they will be first in line for the next wave of reservations opening in spring 2012.
Through Model Year 12, Nissan expects to release around 600 Nissan LEAFs on the Canadian market.
Reservation Process:
On October 22nd at noon, reservations will open to those registered at www.nissan.ca/leaf and living within the vicinity of a Nissan LEAF certified dealer. All details, including exact timing for the opening of reservations, will be distributed via email in advance.
A $99 reservation fee (fully refundable) is required to secure a reservation.
After booking a home-charging assessment, customers will receive an invitation to order a Nissan LEAF.
Customers request a quote from a local Nissan LEAF-certified dealer and will continue through the sales process until they drive away in their own Nissan LEAF.
