Citroën Tubik: Inspired by the patrol wagon
In order to create this fun-looking vehicle, Citroën’s designers drew their inspiration from the Type H which was produced between 1947 and 1981 and commonly used as a patrol wagon.
Far from being made for prisoner transportation, the very large Tubik — it can sit nine passengers! — is described by Citroën as a “high-tech executive shuttle”.

In order to take place into the vehicle, passengers can either use the conventional driver’s door or the giant gullwing door running the entire length of the truck on the other side.
The Tubik also features a hidden panoramic window allowing the passengers to look outside without being seen.
The driver’s area, which Citroën calls “Cyclotron”, incorporates a multifunction screen onto the steering wheel, head-up display which projects driving data onto the windscreen, as well as many other technologies.
Almost all seats — except the driver’s — can be moved to rearrange the cabin. The middle row can even be converted into a table or an oversized lounge chair.
A large TV screen/home theater is also available, as well as a high-definition sound system.
The Tubik’s front wheels are powered by a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, while an electric motor drives the rear axle. The powertrain provides all-wheel drive.
