Hyundai RN30 Concept: a Forestate of Future N Models
Some time ago, Hyundai announced the creation of a range of performance vehicles called N. One single letter, perhaps, but a single letter that means a lot, like BMW with the letter M and Cadillac with the letter V.
The RN30 Concept, which is based on the European Hyundai i30, or the Elantra GT on our market, boasts a turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine good for 380 metric horsepower as well as AWD.
The car shows off spectacular bodywork with butterfly doors, bright blue paint and an aggressive ground effects package. According to the manufacturer, the RN30 was made for the track, developed through collaboration between Hyundai Motorsport, the company’s technical centre in Europe and Hyundai Motor’s high-performance vehicle division.
This concept is a foretaste of Hyundai’s first N model, which would potentially rival the Ford Focus RS, the Subaru WRX STI and the Volkswagen Golf R.
